WinDev

WinDev is a portable, isolated, and reproducible Windows development environment designed primarily for scientific computing and computational software development.

Its purpose is to solve a problem that is often underestimated: building the development environment itself can become almost as difficult as building the software.

WinDev brings compilers, development tools, scientific libraries, build systems, shell utilities, Python, and their configuration into a structured and controlled environment. Instead of relying on a particular Windows installation, globally installed packages, remembered commands, or manually configured environment variables, WinDev provides a consistent mechanism for entering, configuring, and using the development environment.
